When we see contradicting statements about various subjects and we wonder what is true, the only logical thing to do is seek information. The first one for me was gun control because I have always liked guns. The almost immediately second was Christianity. So today some family and acquaintances don't like my speaking about Christianity and politics.
Since I had studied these and many other things in the last 40 or 50 years, what might I talk about? I share some of my insights. What would any rational person do? Too many Americans need to ask more questions and quit just listening to their constant media indoctrination. I also question what I think I know! I am willing to learn new things. "What everyone knows" is not what I want to learn! My question is: Are they right? Quite often that is not the case. It is often only what their news source says!
My driving questions on everything are these:
What is true?
Why must the talking heads in media be the “only” truth?
You are free to believe whatever you may want to believe.
Before I accept your viewpoint, I will check it out!
I expect you to do the same for my viewpoints!
I put this short discussion on Facebook after my daughter repeated a conversation with my son. This is a slightly expanded version of that. To humans, truth is relative to each of us individually. Too many of us reject what we do see and hear without attempting to discover its degree of trueness! We reject Bible teaching and accept media indoctrination. How intellectually valid is that?
In the Bible, Pilate stated the rhetorical question, “What is truth?” His real concern was what action by him might cause him to lose his life or position. He was actually bound by his political situation and God’s will to do what he did. Jesus is the Lamb of GOD for our sacrifice. Jesus would accomplish that no matter what Pilate did!
Real truth is so much more elegant than the incomplete human truth that we can even see! Why have our ancestors been so sold out on Christianity to the point of death or moving to America? Because they didn’t think it was true, only a myth? Most people who do not believe the Bible have never read it! Many people who are familiar with the Bible have not read it from cover to cover. Many people have not studied its stories.
My challenge is this: read it from cover to cover. Get a modern language version. Some of the King James language is too archaic to understand. Then tell me why I am wrong to value it and worship GOD! Do the work then tell me how it is not of value to anyone and why I am crazy to believe it! GOD’s nature never changes and like HIM neither does human nature. But we can do much better individually by understanding this and keeping our eyes on GOD’s ways and words. It would be better if everyone did this, but they don’t! This is why I talk about all this!
This is one of my meditations and themes for the last several years. It is like a unfathomable, universe-wide subject. This is a good starting discussion of this subject. It is packed with meaning.
Humans are made in GOD’s Image and HIS likeness.
That Image in humans is this: our individual spirit & attributes.
The reason is so that we can relate to HIM. Our excuse that GOD isn’t human and a figment of our imagination is totally destroyed by Jesus. Freedom is in this discussion.
GOD created humans to be able to relate to HIM. Jesus came to be our individual, sinless Lamb of sacrifice. He will come again as the Messiah that the Jews are expecting but it will be to return believers (all those who have chosen to believe forever) to the Eden relationship with GOD. {The Biblical book of Leviticus is what perfect obedience would look like.

While it is humanly impossible for humans to be totally good, we always can do much better than we have been doing if we individually want to do so! There is no concept that humans can totally achieve in this life. This applies individually, in groups or collectively.
The pathologies of today’s culture are apparent. However, they are called benefits & loudly proclaimed. They must be clearly seen as dangerous & wrong to our once-free country!
They are deliberately destroying Christianity, our country, our families, our individual personhood & our individual freedoms. Does this seem to be too extreme a statement?
Our media are calling evil “good” & good “evil”. Should that be totally right & silently allowed? Free speech & opinions must not live there? Freedom of speech is not absolute. This severe problem should be curtailed & limited within the proper bounds & situations!
Is it possible or allowed to seek those limits that do not destroy freedom of speech itself?

I do not support ANY, ANY political personality cults!!!! Left, Right, middle, it doesn’t matter! If you take the political part out, it is still so! Is this clear enough? I don’t support cultish “groupyism”!
My expectation is that any American who wishes to serve America in a political office would speak and act in support of our cherished American principles that are reflected in the best writings of our founders and all sensible people since then!
I am disgusted by the pragmatic politics and the excessive partisanship that the media love, especially for Democrats, it seems. I am disgusted with the pro-to-total leftism in our media. They do not represent thinking, peaceful citizens’ views! Individual humans are all over the belief spectrum with the issues. That is why discussion is necessary!
The people that I enjoy watching and reading at least attempt to tell the truth as they see it and are willing to listen to varying opinions and discuss them! From libertarian to center ...
