TO CONGRESS & THE SUPREME COURT
I am a free citizen that is still working at age 78. I have studied what may be true for at least 40 years, maybe longer. Not one truth only has been my quest, but the truth of every issue. It has not always been an easy search. These views are my own, made from my own studies and seeking. I don’t expect you to fall over yourself in agreeing with me. More likely you will be offended. Varied opinions often have to navigate that creek! It doesn’t have to be a river or sea!
With the rare exceptions that I may be familiar with, after about 4 terms, politicians start serving their re-election and political party and not me. While some politicians are statesmen and not just party hacks, the temptation seems to me to be that the office and party are the most important. The country was not created to be “normal” that way. It is a normal trend in history.
Humans have problems dealing with their own power and that of others. Everybody quotes Lord Acton’s “Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely” –it’s always about the other guy, not themselves. We can see it so clearly in the Bible’s stories of the various kings and in secular history of kings, their “administrations” and other leaders.
It seems obvious to me that all departments of American government are grasping more power over the last 100 years, fussing about each other and/or ignoring what is happening. It is focused today on “the other party.” Free and thinking people are not liking the focus. I am not loving it all and I do not love the political parties doing what the founders said the parties naturally do!
Personally, I do not care for your re-election or your particular political party—UNLESS, you remain true to the Founders’ vision as reflected in the Declaration, Constitution and Bill of Rights. Just saying that you do is not adequate. Actions shout much louder than words! If you are the only one standing on principle, so much the better. That is true American! Be sure that it is American principle, not current practices, that you are standing on!
I hasten to say that Mississippi’s representatives and senators are much better than others. But, relative measure is not the proper measure, the best of American principle is the measure. If I thought you were ignorant of these principles, it would be one thing, but I don’t think that you are.
Since I don’t realistically expect you to retire, what I would like to see is that you would try to develop some true statesmen, male or female, in this state and work to get them as replacements to you and then retire when one is elected. You would have to do that in spite of your party and the media. You would also have to fight against your own desire to protect your perceived power. I understand all of that. As a statesman, such action is required. This country was not designed for career politicians. It has become that, but that is the path to non-America—away from America!
A major beef I have with Republicans is when they had true winners who were trying to do really American things, they didn’t have your support. Trump was the most recent example but Reagan comes to mind, too. For shame! I didn’t care for Trump’s tweets but when I looked at what he was doing and who was around him, I was astounded! But then to hear all the contrary Republicans’ opinions was not good. They didn’t support their own party! That is a total sin to Democrats (who are not good examples of anything except maybe consistency!)
Party is not everything & everything is not party!!!!! If it is to you, you are needing badly to retire. Also, government is not everything and everything is not government! These are not truly American views! Another “not good” is the polarization that is promoted today! Humans are not comfortable with extreme choices, one or the other only.
The bureaucracy that has been continually developed is not good. It is also not responsible to the citizens or to Congress. They act like they may be, but don’t show it with their anti-freedom actions. If they only suggested things for the country, it would be one thing. But they have interjected themselves into everyday life at the expense of the states’ responsibilities.
I have heard all the objections to these ideas. Most and or many of the objections are protecting the status quo! There is too much political power being exercised in our governments. There is too much money at stake that should not even be in the equation! Today’s political class is selling freedom piece by piece. Our country was designed to turn back the excesses. Whose fault is it that we aren’t doing that? I believe we all share the fault! You that you aren’t doing it, me because I haven’t required it.
WE NEED A RESTORATION REFORMATION IN OUR NATION,
NOT JUST A DIFFERENT PARTY TAKEOVER!
[NOTE—THE FOUNDERS DID NOT LIKE POLITICAL PARTIES!]
We’ve already done that several times that haven’t worked well for freedom. Trumps’ administration showed us that it was possible to do much better. You know, I don’t really care whether you like him or not! So What?!! Who are you supposed to be serving? It IS instructive that many citizens liked his accomplishments and disliked Biden’s removing them all, especially minority groups and small businesses!
No political change happens overnight except turning back working things that the other party did! So the leftists immediately took us back to the leftist systems in place that were being rolled back and properly so—rolled back! Life is not about party or left/right issues. Life is more about what may be useful and protective of freedoms!
WE NEED TO RELEARN TO LIVE THERE!
I am a free citizen that is watching my freedoms being taken away, evaporating in the political fog! I am concerned that my supposed representatives, senators and judges are not staying within the constitutional framework and are often redefining the Constitution for their own power. I am also concern that many of our citizens do not understand the proper working of our governments. It is understandable in the fact that we do not have much of the media input showing the problems and source of our problems. Too much of it is against proper American institutions that were built to protect our freedoms. I am not desiring the train wreck at the end of the line! America needs to get back on the freedom train and track. We are not there now!
[I would like to see us get off the track to a dead end socialist(leftist) dictatorship! I would also like to see people who ought to know better understand that Nazis and fascists are leftwing, not right-wingers in spite of their rhetoric at times.
The things that politicians and bureaucrats do and prefer to do is what determines who they are, not what they may say. Government force against its citizens is totalitarian no matter who does it!]
My father taught me that respect is earned, not accorded. Too many people in government demand respect that they have not earned. It is hateful arrogance to demand respect that is not earned. We need more representatives, senators and judges with a servant attitude, the proper American attitude! That is what earns respect. If you don’t like these words, maybe I need to vote for someone else!
This is one of my meditations and themes for the last several years. It is like a unfathomable, universe-wide subject. This is a good starting discussion of this subject. It is packed with meaning.
Humans are made in GOD’s Image and HIS likeness.
That Image in humans is this: our individual spirit & attributes.
The reason is so that we can relate to HIM. Our excuse that GOD isn’t human and a figment of our imagination is totally destroyed by Jesus. Freedom is in this discussion.
GOD created humans to be able to relate to HIM. Jesus came to be our individual, sinless Lamb of sacrifice. He will come again as the Messiah that the Jews are expecting but it will be to return believers (all those who have chosen to believe forever) to the Eden relationship with GOD. {The Biblical book of Leviticus is what perfect obedience would look like.

While it is humanly impossible for humans to be totally good, we always can do much better than we have been doing if we individually want to do so! There is no concept that humans can totally achieve in this life. This applies individually, in groups or collectively.
The pathologies of today’s culture are apparent. However, they are called benefits & loudly proclaimed. They must be clearly seen as dangerous & wrong to our once-free country!
They are deliberately destroying Christianity, our country, our families, our individual personhood & our individual freedoms. Does this seem to be too extreme a statement?
Our media are calling evil “good” & good “evil”. Should that be totally right & silently allowed? Free speech & opinions must not live there? Freedom of speech is not absolute. This severe problem should be curtailed & limited within the proper bounds & situations!
Is it possible or allowed to seek those limits that do not destroy freedom of speech itself?

I do not support ANY, ANY political personality cults!!!! Left, Right, middle, it doesn’t matter! If you take the political part out, it is still so! Is this clear enough? I don’t support cultish “groupyism”!
My expectation is that any American who wishes to serve America in a political office would speak and act in support of our cherished American principles that are reflected in the best writings of our founders and all sensible people since then!
I am disgusted by the pragmatic politics and the excessive partisanship that the media love, especially for Democrats, it seems. I am disgusted with the pro-to-total leftism in our media. They do not represent thinking, peaceful citizens’ views! Individual humans are all over the belief spectrum with the issues. That is why discussion is necessary!
The people that I enjoy watching and reading at least attempt to tell the truth as they see it and are willing to listen to varying opinions and discuss them! From libertarian to center ...
